February

I need sleep.

Sunday Feb 13th:
4am-Jack is crying. I go into his room, it's still very dark. I don't turn the light on though because Pete sleeps in there too. "It's ok Jack, lie down babe". "NO MUM! YUCKIES!" I turn his night light on to find his entire bed covered in purple puke. We had been at my in-laws house for dinner the night before. Jack had eaten A LOT of blueberries. Yuckies indeed.
5:35am- More purple puke.
6am-More.
6:12am-More.
8am-More.
12 noon: Jack has his cars lined up on the kitchen table....he's happy as a clam. He's suddenly all better.

Saturday Feb. 20th:
8pm-Put Pete to bed (Jack has been asleep for an hour already).
8:25pm-Collect Pete from his bed...he's stuffy and congested, very upset.
8:45pm-Put Pete to bed for the 2nd time.
8:55pm-Collect a crying Pete from his bed...he falls asleep in my arms within seconds...so tired, but miserable.
9:03pm-Pete is back in bed and appears to be out for real this time...I wait...still sleeping..brilliant.
12:35pm-Ryan is sound asleep, dead to the world. I hear Pete crying. I stumble down the dark hallway to Jack and Pete's bedroom.
12:40- Try feeding Pete, he isn't interested. He looks up at me with sad, pathetic eyes and then barfs what I can only describe as a bucket load of grossness all over every inch of me.
I'm too scared to even move. Good thing I didn't...
12:41-Another massive amount of puke all over me....nice...I am ready to puke myself.
12:47pm-I have never taken a shower at this time of night before, but it is very necessary. Pete gets a bath too.
1am-Pete is asleep, but awakens upset and distressed every 40 mins for the rest of the night.
7:35am-"Mum, where are you?" Fabulous, Jack is up.

Ryan was already gone for his Sunday meetings when I finally dragged my body, with two kids attached, out into the living room.
We traded off later that morning so I could go teach my Beehive class. I could say I have never been so tired, but I'm pretty sure I have been.

Monday thru Wednesday the house was puke free, but no one really felt good. Then Wednesday night Ryan was up barfin' till the wee hours of the morning. He took yesterday off work. He went back in today, but I'm not so sure that was a great idea. Hopefully good old 'Vial Fotheringham' doesn't end up with a bunch of sicko lawyers by the end of the day.

Today I feel queasy....oh bother.

I feel for you Leigh!! You are a champ though handling it all by yourself!! Getting thrown up on is about the worst thing ever. I was watching my nephew a few months back and we had just replaced the upstairs carpet. He woke up saying he was sick and then puke started coming. I was so scared for the carpet I just held him and I was covered from head to toe. He was sobbing and then I started gagging and had to call Russ upstairs...poor guy had to come clean everything up...I just can't handle it. You are a great mom to take on everyone's sickness...hope someone takes care of you now!!

dont know if it makes you feel any better but when euan had he battle with kidney stones this week he barfed all over the bathroom, every inch except in the toliet and right there i had to face my fear of what i thought i would not have to face until i was a mother: cleaning up massive loads of unpleasentness.

we made homemade pizza last week and thought it was the perfect time to make some homemade root beer too! it was fabulous! thanks again!

Oh that sounds so miserable! I'm sorry to hear that your boys have all been so sick. I truly hope that you aren't getting the same thing. Hope the sickness wave passes quickly from your home!
