Easter Weekend was bloomin' busy this year. Of course, in typical Oregon fashion, we had freezing cold wind/rain that made the community Easter egg hunt we attended REALLY special. My husband's dear aunt Julie made the comment that the kids looked like "New England Fishermen" in this picture...brilliant. They waited in anticipation for the horn...but alas when the horn actually sounded poor wee Joey(in the blue) had a slight change of mind and decided it wasn't for him and began to cry. Jack quickly grabbed three eggs that lay close by, but within SECONDS ...
...the whole lot had vanished. Oh well...needless to say I wasn't too disappointed it was over. The weather made the whole experience rather miserable...here's hoping for a more cheerful day next year.On Saturday night Ryan's parents came and stayed the night with us. We watched conference and then painted some eggs in between sessions. Jack was having a brilliant time. He wasn't too gentle with the eggs, but then again he's not very gentle period.
Pete had been napping during the egg painting. Jack could barely contain himself when Pete woke up and made sure Pete got a proper look at each of the eggs he had painted.
Pete was equally excited about the eggs and being the "grabby" boy that he is....swooped at numerous eggs...
...examined them carefully and then proceeded to chuck them on the floor. Jack thought this was a genius idea, but I was quick to foil that plan. Thankfully we only ended up with a couple of Humpty Dumptys.
He's pretty cute, but he's very mischievous!
It was a rather jam packed weekend, with a lot of sweeties consumed(especially when my mum's package full of AMAZING chocolate came from home), but it was nice to spend some time with family and enjoy conference.
Side note...we were watching part of "The Return of the King" after all the family had left on Sunday night as we got the kids ready for bed. Jack probably shouldn't have been allowed to see any of it, but in the short few minutes he saw he got annoyed at the "naughty monkey" (gollum) and exclaimed "It's Jesus" when he saw Gandalf....ummm...great.

Leigh, your boys are getting so big! They are darling. That stinks that it rained all day on Easter. Hopefully they still enjoyed their eggs! Glad to see you guys are doing well :)
I love your commentary! Hilarious! Miss you!
Jack looks freezing haha he is so cute with his bucket. When are you's coming over?
Pete is getting so big! I couldn't believe the pictures...he's a handsome little guy! Looks like fun though, even if it did rain!
I thought of you the other day....Peyton is addicted to Thomas the Train like Jack is and we were watching a Thomas show and I thought of your story about driving so far just to go get him two new trains! I totally relate...Peyton is sad because he doesn't have Diesel and I have been scouting out our stores around here just to find him. He'll be getting him this weekend....our budget is tight but the poor kid needs Diesel! LOL!
